Crown Entity-Real Estate Agents Authority
The Real Estate Agents Authority is a Crown entity, established under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008.
The Real Estate Agents Act 2008 was passed in September 2008 and will replace the Real Estate Agents Act 1976 with a new regulatory regime for real estate agents, branch managers and salespersons. The new regime will begin operating on 17 November 2009.
The Authority will provide independent oversight of the real estate industry and increased consumer protection.
